The Law of Attraction is not alive and well in Leander!

We all know what the above means, but not alive?  This is correct.  Small business and real estate developers are currently not interested in Leander.  This is due to the layers and layers of rules and hurdles both Business and Developers alike face when going through the process.  On the campaign trail, I hear that Leander is a “Leap Frog City” meaning folks would rather locate in Liberty Hill or Cedar Park.

This absolutely must change.  Becoming small business/developer friendly and shortening the development process is essential for our city’s health.  This will be my first objective once in office.  Your city council can and must act quickly to make Leander attractive again.  As Mayor, I will lead your city council in making the aforementioned changes quickly and efficiently.

This will be part of your city council “Leander 2050” plan.  Basically, “who are we going to be when we grow up” will be our theme.  Your input, as a citizen’s duty, is critical for our success, just like in ’03.  The workshops guided your city council.

I 2003, we (your city council) created Leander 2025, which brought Lowes, Kohls, HEB, Randall’s, ACC, St David’s, Capital Metro, the Leander TOD, 183A, an AA+ bond rating (from near junk bond status) , a 50 year supply of water through our partnership with Round Rock and Cedar Park (the “BCRUA”), Built a state of the art Library, Secured parkland including Lakewood Park, Benbrook Ranch Park, Devine Lake Park and the like.

We will continue the sustainable model of the 2025 with the 2050; creating a landing zone for HI-Tech such as NANO and AI technology companies along with 3D printing companies.  DATA and/or call centers are also scheduled to be attracted to Leander.

It is time the Law of Attraction be applied to our city!  Momentum will be restored.
